Oahu, Hawaii | Activities For The Entire Family

A trip to Hawaii had always been my dream vacation. I am so grateful and thankful that this dream became a reality. We visited two islands: Oahu, which you will see on this post and Maui, which you can find on another post. There were so many photos and experiences that I had to break it down. Because I am a teacher, the only real time I have to travel is during the summer. So we did. Here is our journey:

Pearl Harbor

I’m a teacher, so I had to incorporate “Stanley” (teacher’s you know what I’m talking about) on the sign. Pearl Harbor is a place of solemn respect for those who died in this war. It is truly an amazing thing to do while in Oahu. The following 12 photos are of Pearl Harbor.

Diamond Head

Be prepared for a nice hike, especially if you’re not that fit! Get some good walking shoes, a water bottle, and you’ll be ready to tackle Diamond Head on this beautiful island of Hawaii. It is absolutely gorgeous and it will be worth it…I promise! It’s a lot easier going down. The next 8 photos are of Diamond Head.

Polynesian Cultural Center

The Polynesian Cultural Center is a must see in Oahu, Hawaii! It is a huge place where you can encounter many styles of song & dance from many tropical islands.

Make sure you stay for the evening show & Ali-i Luau buffet! It will make your mouth water!

Furthermore, if you’re a huge Disney fan like me, make sure to visit Aulani for an awesome luau experience plus other activities that you don’t even need to be a guest for! And what makes it even more interesting is to learn the history of Aulani and why Hawaii was chosen for its location.

Kualoa Ranch

Kualoa Ranch is one of the most unique places on Oahu, Hawaii you can visit. Do you love outdoor activities? Do you love the movies? Make sure you check out this place because it is mind-blowing gorgeous! “Jurassic Park” and many Hollywood movie/TV sites were filmed here. Not too far from here is a quaint Macadamia Farm and the bridge from the movie “50 First Dates” starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The next 17 photos are of Kualoa Ranch.

Chinaman Hat Island

Dole Plantation

Dole Plantation is the pit stop to pure refreshing goodness! Among the cool breezes of Hawaii, this plantation has many things to offer. Your children will have a blast (stay together if they’re young) exploring the next turn of the pineapple garden maze! This place has it all for a nice family morning or an afternoon getaway. From the maze, train tour, garden tour, and food you will be pleased. But, in my opinion, one of the best things you can order at their grille the pineapple float! Hanauma Bay

Hanauma Bay is at the top of my list of one of the most gorgeous beaches you could EVER visit not just in Hawaii, but anywhere! I recommend you go EARLY in the morning before they open to avoid congestion and to get the best snorkeling. They are a state park so they do have a minimal fee to enter. We arrived very early and had the entire beach to ourselves for a little while, which was breathtaking! The snorkeling was fantastic because of the coral reef habitat.
